Amnart Charoen is a newly established province upgraded from Amphoe Amnat Charoen of Ubon Ratchathani Province in 1993. It is 583 kilometers from Bangkok.

Attractions & Places of Interest

Phra Mongkhon Ming Muang and Buddha Utthayan at Khao Dan Phra Bat is located 3 kilometers from town on the Phra Mongkhon Ming Muang left-hand side of Highway 212. Being a Buddhist sanctuary built amidst green trees, it houses a Buddha image in the attitude of Subduing Mera decorated with golden mosaic tiles, designed by Chit Buabut cast in 1965. It is a very beautiful Buddha image.

Phuttha Utthayan Reservoir Three kilometers away from town, this huge reservoir under the Irrigation Department offers a beautiful scenery. It is an ideal place to visit with resorts and food shops scattered all around.

Don Chao Pu Forest Park is a dense forest near Amphoe Phana with many kinds of trees that are over 100 years old. This shady and quiet forest on the habitat of a large number of mondays.
Wat Tham Saeng Phet Wat Tham Saeng Phet is on Amnat Charoen - Khemmarat Road, about 10 kilometers from town, then turn left for another 2 kilometers. The large temple area consists of the hilltop chapel with a principle Buddha image. The temple is set amidst rocks which reflects the light and sparkle like diamonds.



Wat Phra Lao Thep Nimit Wat Phra Lao Thep Nimit is on Highway 2049 about 2 kilometers from Amphoe Phana centre. It is an old temple. Phra Lao Thep Nimit, an ancient Buddha image, is houses in the beautiful ordination hall is about 200 years old. The principal sacred Buddha image, in the attitude of Subduing Mara is lacquered and gilded.
